SafeBit helps you create an encrypted virtual disk drive (called Safe), loaded only when needed, where you can hide files and folders, keep them encrypted all them time, but still work with these files just like you work with normal files. When you open a file from a Safe the data is decrypted on-the-fly, when you save it back, the data is re-encrypted automatically. This mechanism is completely transparent to the user. The files remain encrypted all the time, NO temporary unsecured files used. In case of incorrect system shutdown or system crash the SafeBit maintains the security of data by keeping the files ALWAYS encrypted.

Drive Lockdown. Access to safe is password protected. The drive is visible only when the safe is opened. When the Safe is closed it's completely invisible. The data from a safe is encrypted on-the-fly when you place it in the safe. Only the person that knows the password will be able to open the safe and read the files within. SafeBit uses the strong 256-bit AES encryption algorithm (selected by the U.S. government as its official encryption standard).

Automatic Shutdown. The "automatic closure system" will protect you even when you are away from your computer by closing the safe when you don't use it. The container files are also protected against accidental deletion.
